There is no shortage of outdoor activities in Escondido you can visit the 3,000 acre Daily Ranch every day from dusk till dawn and Hike, Bike or Ride your horse on one of 6 different multipurpose trails covering a total of over 20 miles. The 784 acre Elfin Forest Reserve gives you yet another opportunity to Hike, Bike or Ride your horse on almost 11 miles of Trail. For the fresh water fishing enthusiast, both Lake Wohlford & Dixon Lake give you the opportunity to try your luck at catching one of the many varieties of fish such as Bass, Bluegill & Trout. Palomar Mountain State Park is about a one hour trip from downtown Escondido and offers its own adventure with a scenic drive to the summit revealing great mountain-top views.
For wining and dining, there are over a dozen wineries to be found. The Historic downtown Grand Avenue district features 20 plus restaurants. The Stone Brewery is definitely worth visiting to try their world famous craft beers, not to mention the interesting architecture that makes the inside area a dining and drinking pleasure. Don’t forget to go outside and enjoy the rugged beauty of the outdoor garden and dining area which makes for a unique experience.
